Young people's category
For young people who have shown an outstanding ability to represent, lead and be a positive role model for their peers.
The young people's category is open to all young people aged 12-18 who live, work or study in Canterbury-Bankstown.
Young people must be nominated as individuals – group nominations are not accepted. Winners of each category will receive a prize valued at $200 and finalists will receive a prize valued at $50.
Young people can be nominated, or nominate themselves, in six categories.
Submit your nomination together with a piece of writing or drawing describing why the nominated young person should win.
For young people who have shown an outstanding ability to represent, lead and be a positive role model for their peers.
For young people who have shown an ability to shine through moments of adversity in their life and are an inspirational role model to others.
For young people involved in improving their local community and helping their fellow community members.
For young people who have shown outstanding ability in different aspects of the creative and performing arts, such as music, drama and visual arts.
For young people who have shown significant sporting dedication and achievement in one or more areas.
For young people who have shown significant achievement or improvement in one or more aspects of their academic life.

After being forced to flee her war-torn country, 16-year-old Adila Musavi was recognised for her inspirational achievements with a City of Canterbury Bankstown Children and Youth Award.
