Love Earlwood: Meet you at the Plateia Festival
Saturday 20 September, 11am-4pm at Clarke St, Earlwood
This new FREE festival will see Earlwood’s town centre in Clarke Street transformed into a vibrant celebration of all things Mediterranean.
Traditional food, music and family-friendly entertainment will be on offer in honour of the Greek and Italian cultures and residents that have called Earlwood home for generations.
Love Earlwood – Meet You at the Plateia Festival is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Open Street’s Program, led by Transport for NSW.
Mayor's Message
What a year it has been for our City so far! From the vibrant flavours of Lakemba Nights during Ramadan to the warm hospitality of Let’s Go Italian, the colourful celebrations of Bankstown Lunar New Year and the charm of Love Earlwood yet to come.
We’ve seen our streets come alive with culture, food, music and community spirit.
These events truly reflect what makes Canterbury-Bankstown so special – a place where people from all walks of life come together to celebrate our diversity.
And now, we are set to roll out the red carpet for another incredible celebration – the 13th edition of Lebanese Film Festival Australia.
Since its humble beginnings in 2012, the festival has grown into the largest showcase of Lebanese cinema anywhere in the world.
Founded by two passionate locals, it has screened more than 300 films from around the globe, each one capturing the richness of Lebanese storytelling, traditions and creativity.
This year’s opening night on Thursday 28 August at the Bryan Brown Theatre will be a spectacular affair, featuring three short films from award-winning Lebanese director Karim Rahbani.
I’m proud that our City is home to over 50,000 people with Lebanese background and this event highlights some of the best of the Levant culture: food, entertainment and film.
This significant cultural event is one that not only celebrates our strong Lebanese community but also attracts visitors, filmmakers and film lovers from far and wide.
I encourage you to immerse yourself in the stories and be part of this extraordinary celebration of Lebanese culture.

Mayor Bilal El-Hayek

Love your local park?
We’re reviewing how we care for smaller neighbourhood parks and we’d love to hear what’s working well – and what could be better – when it comes to things like mowing, bins and garden maintenance.
